Cheap Car Insurance & European Travel

It is a well known fact that there are certain areas in the world that cheap car insurance providers simply will not touch with a barge pole. For example, native insurers in France will not insure any vehicle as soon as it sets wheel on the island around the Arc de Triomphe on the Champs Elysees in Paris. There are no applicable rules on that island so you literally take your chances with the traffic, but what does this mean for you when you are there?
Now is the time to start thinking about where you want to travel this spring and summer and these elements need to be taken into consideration if you plan on driving your own car. Most insurers will maintain their cheap car insurance over when you are abroad but exclusions like the Arc de Triomphe example will apply so always have a conversation with them and check out the restrictions in advance.
