International specialty property/casualty insurer and reinsurer Catlin Group Limited has announced it is expanding its activities in Australia with the opening of a new office in Melbourne.
Rory Morison will head up the new office, leaving the firm’s London office where he worked as casualty underwriter.
To begin with the new Melbourne office will specialise in General Liability and General Aviation insurance, as well as acting as a contact point for the other forms of insurance Catlin underwrites from its office in Sydney.
Catlin Australia Director Andrew Case has welcomed the second office opening, stating it underlined the firm’s commitment to providing Australian policyholders and brokers with high quality service.
In the latter half of 2009 Catlin expanded its presence in Italy, opening a second office located in Rome.
